Alternators

Alternators convert mechanical energy to electrical energy with an alternating current, charging up the battery to power the starter motor, ignition and all other electrical components on your vehicle.

Signs of a faulty alternator are often mistaken for problems with your battery, but without a working alternator your vehicle won't start or stay on for more then a few minutes. If you're experiencing one of these issues it could be a sign of a bad alternator:
